BETFINDER - New in version 10.0!

WOW, have we been around THAT long? Version 10? TEN? Whoda thunk it? I guess that our policies of honesty, promptness, friendly customer service and reasonable pricing have kept us going strong all these years. Founded and incorporated in 1991, our first DOS release of A+ Thorobred shortly thereafter in a "shareware" magazine, our association with online data providers in 1994, our first true Windows version of our program in 2001, Tracker in 2003, RBR in 2005, PayPal along the way, our very own past performance files with version 9.0 in 2008 ....... AND NOW ....... (drumroll) ....... BETFINDER!

What is BETFINDER? Please read ALL of the following before taking a "sneak peek" at the BETFINDER "screen shots" below.

Well, most of you know that recently we have partnered with a company called ProPick Racing (PPR) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their concept is rather simple. Let bettors (especially beginners) get their feet wet by making a few wagers BEFORE beating their brains out pouring over pages and pages of instructions on HOW they should bet. PPR uses the "stockbroker" concept and features about a half dozen professional handicappers (some famous like Rich Eng , columnist/handicapper for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and author of Betting on Horse Racing for Dummies & The Guide to U.S. Casinos and Racinos, harness expert Dave Brower , host of the nightly "Racing from the Meadowlands" television program on SportsNet New York and on-site analyst on TVG's Drive Time on Friday nights and Kristin Sadler, renowned DRF writer and handicapper - and then there's me) who recommend a handful of bets each racing day and make it easy for their customers to get in on the action with a few simple clicks. PPR account holders can follow handicappers and place bets using the recommendations of PPR's handicappers who even suggest the amounts to bet. They get betting advice AND money management all in one and the best part of it is that it's all free! PPR pays track prices, runs free contests and posts very helpful articles that benefit everyone from the beginner to the seasoned pro. And soon, PPR account holders will be able to get the A+ RBR and A3P/9.0 reports for free (details to be announced soon).

But Mike, I thought this page was about BETFINDER?

OK, I've gotten off on one of my trademark tangents but you'll see how it all ties in to BETFINDER. When I first partnered with PPR in mid-June of 2009, my goal was to recommend bets that cashed often and provided a nice profit for PPR's account holders. With dozens of tracks running each day, I had to manually toil over dozens of A+ Graded Analysis Reports to find "standout" bets. Win, place and show bets where the top pick was rated FAR above the rest of the field AND had the potential to return a handsome profit. Exacta bets where the top two selections were close in rating AND far above the rest of the field (the typical "two horse race"). The same concept was applied to trifectas and superfectas. It worked great generating a $1,400 profit in our very first month on PPR. But it was entirely a MANUAL PROCESS. Sure, it was fun finding these bets and watching them come in lighting up the tote board. What wasn't fun was hundreds of mouse clicks to open GAR files, find bets, copy and paste them into a central location and the record keeping. So I invested some programming hours, sought the advice of my best beta tester who over the years has made some very valuable suggestions and developed BETFINDER for Version 10.0 of A+ Thorobred which will be released early next year.

In a nutshell, A+ Thorobred users will create their GAR files as they do now and then fire up BETFINDER. You pick the date, the track(s), the type of bets you wish to see and minimum requirements for odds, power rating differences and value index. Users can also choose to pass races with fewer than a specified number of runners and/or more than a specified number of first time starters. In the blink on an eye, BETFINDER sweeps through the selected GAR's and produces its report which users can save in three different formats (full detail, abbreviated detail and bets only). I have been using the "beta" version of BETFINDER daily to examine hundreds of races and arrive at the "plums" I've been posting for PPR customers.
