Mike:
Good to know that you have all these features built in to Tracker. And thanks for your patience.
I've owned computers since the MS-Dos days, but never had time to get into programming.
Also, don't think my eyes could handle it.
Just checked out your latest home page and all the info you have there about Tracker.
I can certainly attest to your honesty and loyalty to your customers (think I go back almost 10 years).
No one else in the business is as honest and responsive as you, and I certainly appreciate it!
As for the beta guy who wanted you to keep Tracker off the market, I must say that I had similar first thoughts.
BUT, like I mentioned before, my SECOND thoughts reminded me that the masses are cynics and will think that you're blowing smoke.
And they will continue with their adherance to "mainstream thinking" of trainer-jockey combos, Beyer SRs, the DRF, program picks,
tout sheets, etc., etc.
I'll relate one personal experience I've recently had with "touting (discussing, really) APlus".
One of the regulars at my OTB that I see 2-3 times a week, claims to be a retired "horseman",
couldn't believe it one day when I cashed a $400 plus APlus selected exacta. He started asking me
about the program I use and I told him and gave him your website. Well, that was months ago, and he
still buys the DRF daily and swears by it (hooray and long live the Beyer numbers!). Now, I pretty
much keep it to myself when I make the big hits (such as yesterday at Woodbine, I collected $100+ exactas
in the 5th and 8th races-- $190 in the 8th!).
You should hopefully pick up new customers, but I doubt if the use by your APlus and Tracker customers will
impact the overall mutual payoffs. Of course, when we periodically have one of the big hits, it may slightly
dillute the payout, but it will still be a big payout! In my opinion, the biggest "dillution" in payouts comes
from the tracks with the exhorbitant takeouts (some are 25-30%). That's why I love California, Kentucky and
New York -- they have the lowest takeouts.
I'll be back to you soon with more definitive comments on how I'm using Tracker. And, thanks for including me in your Beta group!
